About me:
My name is Sarah, and I have 14 years of experience working with children as both a parent and a practitioner. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), gaining valuable expertise in this area. In my free time, I enjoy traveling the world, exploring new cuisines, and immersing myself in books on my Kindle, when I am not reading for studies as I have two degrees and studying my third one.
My Childcare experience:
I have extensive experience working with children in a variety of settings. I began my career in a nursery, where I held roles as both a Room Leader and Deputy Manager. I then transitioned to private nannying, working with three different families, all with multiple children. Over the course of six years as a nanny, my responsibilities included cooking, cleaning, organizing playdates and outings, and managing bath and bedtime routines. Currently, I am employed as a Play Specialist in a hospital setting, where I have progressed to a senior position. In this role, I serve as an advocate for children, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring their hospital experience is as comfortable and positive as possible. I also develop personalised care plans for medical teams to follow, helping to enhance patient care. I am committed to furthering my professional development and am pursuing a Master’s degree in Child Protection to deepen my expertise in safeguarding children.

What do you enjoy most about working with children?
Watching them grow and achieve their milestones. Allowing them to express themselves with arts and crafts. Having fun and being silly but also setting boundaries. Helping with setting routines with the parents.
